Here’s some yeast infection home remedies that have been known to work.
The healthy bacteria in plain yogurt works at fighting yeast and you can use yogurt both internally and externally. BUT, you need to get plain, unsweetened yogurt. Because sugar feeds yeast, this is a major point. You can even make your own, with a yogurt starter. It is simple and the results are good. The advantage to this is that you can also use other types of milk, like soy or almond. You can make it directly on the stovetop, or you can get a yogurt maker, if you want to get rid of the process thinking. Yogurt is a great food to eat before meals since it gives you the “healthy bacteria” for your stomach to aid in digestion.
For a topical treatment, you can dip a tampon in plain yogurt and get it into your vagina or just rub some of it on the outside. Leaving it on for too long can have the opposite effect. Once it has done its job, you need to wipe it off or you will start to feel itchier because of the moisture.
Garlic is a major enemy of yeast! This is a very effective home remedy for instant relief. Insert one garlic tab (like Shaklee’s Garlic Tabs) or a garlic clove into the vagina every couple hours or when needed to get soothing relief. If you use garlic tabs, make sure the ingredients are natural and pure.
Garlic can also be taken internally. The Shaklee garlic tabs work quite well. You can also use Kyolic garlic tabs and liquid. Or, if the smell won’t bother you, press a whole garlic clove and drink it down fast with water. This is a very effective. Do it when needed.
Apple-cider vinegar can be used internally and externally. Though, it’s very strong, so it’s not recommended that you apply it right on the skin. It will kill the yeast, though it will burn very, very, much! The best external method is to add about a cup of it into your bathwater and take a nice hot bath. It will feel relaxing and soothing and will help temporarily. This is not effective long-term, however. This provides full-day relief.
