European Union member states

There are currently 15 member states in the European Union:

   * Austria
   * Belgium
   * Denmark
   * Finland
   * France
   * Germany
   * Greece
   * Ireland
   * Italy
   * Luxembourg
   * Netherlands
   * Portugal
   * Spain
   * Sweden
   * United Kingdom

Additionally, the following states have declared their interest in joining
the European Union and are expected to join on May 1, 2004:

   * Cyprus
   * Czech Republic
   * Estonia
   * Hungary
   * Latvia
   * Lithuania
   * Malta
   * Poland
   * Slovakia
   * Slovenia

Romania and Bulgaria plan to join in 2007, and Turkey is expected to join,
but a date has not yet been set.
